How Often Should You Visit an Esthetician?

Ideally, you should visit an esthetician every four to six weeks. However, if you have a specific concern that you’d like addressed, such as acne or premature aging, then you may need to visit more frequently. Conversely, if your skin is generally healthy and you only want to maintain its current condition, visiting less often may be sufficient. Ultimately, it’s important to consult with your esthetician about what frequency of visits is best for you.

What is a hair follicle epigenetic test, and how can it assist with diagnosis?

How should you prepare for a trichologist consultation?

Prepare by bringing any relevant medical records, a list of current medications and supplements, and a history of your hair care routines. It’s also helpful to avoid washing your hair on the day of the consultation so the trichologist can see your scalp and hair in their natural state.

What does a trichologist consultation include?

A trichologist consultation typically includes a detailed medical and hair care history review, a physical examination of your hair and scalp, possibly microscopic analysis of hair strands, and the discussion of possible diagnostic tests like blood work or scalp biopsies. Treatment options and hair care advice are also provided.

When should you see a trichologist?

You should see a trichologist if you are experiencing hair loss, scalp itching or flaking, unusual hair breakage, changes in hair texture, or any other issues specifically related to your hair or scalp that are not improving with over-the-counter treatments.

What tests should be done before a trichologist consultation?

Common tests that might be recommended include blood tests to check for hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, or autoimmune disorders. In some cases, a scalp biopsy or hair analysis may also be suggested to diagnose specific hair or scalp conditions.
